Huntingdon County offers strong educational opportunities from kindergarten through college. Six public school districts serve the area, educating over 7,000 students. In addition to the traditional public schools, families can choose New Day Charter School, which serves grades 7–12 and blends academics with college courses and internships. The Grier School, a well-respected private boarding school for girls in grades 7–12, has been preparing young women for college success for generations.
The Huntingdon County Career and Technology Center plays a vital role in workforce development, offering fourteen vocational and technical programs to high school students and adults. From welding and automotive technology to nursing and culinary arts, the center provides hands-on training that prepares students for in-demand careers.
Juniata College is the educational gem of Huntingdon County. Currently celebrating its 150th anniversary in 2026, the college enrolls approximately 1,320 students on its stunning 110-acre campus. Featuring beautiful historic architecture and majestic old sycamore trees lining the walkways, the campus is both picturesque and academically vibrant. Juniata boasts a 96% placement rate, with nearly all graduates either employed or attending graduate school within six months of graduation. The college is highly regarded for its academic excellence, generous financial aid, and unique student-designed majors. Its beautiful campus, which includes an art museum, observatory, and ceramics studio, serves as a major cultural asset for the entire region.
